Immersive Audio · Five Rooms

Dolby Atmos

Sound In Three Dimensions

Immersive is how the rooms were designed.

Most studios bolt Atmos onto a room built for stereo. At Clearmountain's Berkeley Street Studios — and at Bob Clearmountain's Mix This! — immersive was part of the design from the start. Five rooms across both facilities are equipped for Dolby Atmos, each tuned to a different stage of the process: from the reference console to a stage that puts an audience inside a finished mix.

The result is a creative environment where the same record can be tracked, mixed in full surround, mastered, and played back for guests without ever leaving the room.

What Dolby Atmos Is

Sound placed in space — not just left and right.

Stereo gives you two channels. Dolby Atmos treats each sound as an object that can be placed anywhere around — and above — the listener, then rendered to whatever speaker layout the room is built for. A vocal can sit dead center. A guitar can move overhead. An audience can sit inside a mix as if they were inside the song.

For an artist, it means a finished record that holds up on headphones, in the car, and in a full immersive room. For a label or film team, it means a space where spatial audio can be created and heard the way the audience will actually experience it.

The Rooms

Five immersive spaces, one address.

01 · Studio A

Control Room
The Neve Room

The reference heart of the building. The restored Neve 8068 MkII anchors a room that monitors in Dolby-certified 7.1.4 — so an immersive mix can be built and trusted in the same place a record is tracked. A large projection screen keeps picture in sync for film and video work.

  • Dolby-Certified 7.1.4 Atmos monitoring
  • Vintage Neve 8068 MkII console
  • Dual Pro Tools HDX configurations
  • Apogee Symphony I/O MkII Special Edition
  • Large projection screen for picture sync

02 · Studio A

Live Room
Immersive For An Audience

A full stage with room for up to 180 guests, equipped for live Dolby Atmos playback. It is the rare space where an audience can sit inside a finished immersive mix — which makes it built for album premieres and listening events as much as for tracking a full band.

  • Live Dolby Atmos audience playback
  • Up to 180 guests
  • Full stage with red velvet curtains & exposed ceiling rig
  • Two large projection screens for multi-media performance

03 · Studio G

Podcast Studio & Green Room
Intimate Atmos Listening

The most relaxed room in the building — wrapped in album art and warm light, and the easiest place to sit with an immersive mix without the formality of the main console. It works as a green room during events and as an intimate listening, podcast, and content space the rest of the time.

  • Full A/V setup for podcast and video
  • Lounge environment with album-art walls

04 · Mix This!

Mix Room
Bob Clearmountain's Immersive Studio

Mix This! is where Bob Clearmountain works — including the immersive remixes that have brought catalog records into a new format. It is a working mix room first, tuned for the precision a Dolby Atmos master demands.

05 · Mix This!

Lounge
Listen The Way It Was Mixed

The companion space to the mix room — set up for clients and guests to hear an immersive mix in comfort. It closes the loop: a record can be mixed next door and heard here exactly as intended, in full surround.
